OCTOBER
The 62+ Program is an activity group where seniors can get together and socialize while enjoying a variety of different activities, offered more than 15 times per month, year-round! This program is a great way to explore the area and make new friends while staying active. Activities include local fairs, theater trips, concerts, museum visits, shopping trips, bowling, local walking trails, themed luncheons, guest speakers, holiday parties, arts and crafts, boat rides, and much more. Participants are able to drive to most of our activities or we can pick up residents right up at home with one of our mini buses. Registrations for activities take place bi-monthly. 10/01- Loon Mountain
Ready for some high-altitude leaf-peeping? We’re hitching a ride on the lift to soak up spectacular, panoramic views of the mountains all dressed up in their autumn best. After taking in the crisp summit air, we’ll settle in for a delicious lunch with a bird’s-eye perspective.

10/02- Ricker Hill Tour
Orchard vibes, crisp air, and hopefully a doughnut or three. Time to roam the farm and soak up the absolute best of fall.

10/05- Spirits Alive Tour Eastern Cemetery
Get ready for a walk through history! Join the folks from Spirits Alive for an engaging, spooky, and fascinating look at one of the oldest landmarks in town. It’s the perfect way to soak up the autumn atmosphere and uncover the stories resting right beneath our feet.

10/06- Fuller Farm
Join Naturalist Angela at Fuller Farm in Scarborough, Maine. We will walk a 2 mile loop. The fall time colors should be on full display! Lunch will be at Nonsuch River Brewery.
Rating is Moderate. There will be roots, fallen leaves, wet or muddy patches and some elevation. There is a wooden boardwalk on half of the trail and parts can be uneven.

10/07- Fryeburg Fair
Sweet treats, prize-winning farm animals, and giant fried everything! Come join in on the fun! The cost of admission is on your own.

10/08- Narrow Gauge Train
Choo-choo! All aboard for a cozy, vintage track ride along. Sit back, relax, and let the engine do the work.

10/09- Poland Spring Tour & Lunch
Step back in time for a walk through Maine history! We’ll explore the historic bottling museum and beautiful grounds before settling in for a delicious lunch at Mel’s Hilltop Restaurant.

10/13- Narrated Sunset Cruise
Golden hour, glowing water, and a cool fall breeze. Grab a warm jacket and let’s sail into the evening while hearing some cool history! This will be a perfect way to enjoy time with friends while coasting along on this narrated tour on the water!

10/14- Good Theater "Little Shop of Horrors"
Whatever you do, don't feed the plants! We’re kicking off the mid-month spooky vibes with a hilarious, mean, green musical afternoon at the Good Theater! We will grab lunch somewhere close by beforehand.

10/15- South Portland Shopping
Time for some serious retail therapy! We're hitting the shops to stock up on cozy sweaters, snuggly scarves, and cute autumn gear. We will stop at the Target Plaza where you can check out the following stores: Barnes & Noble, Famous Footwear, Nordstrom Rack, Burlington Coat Factory and Sierra! We will have lunch at Applebees.

10/16- Biddeford City Theater "Our Town"
Our Town presents the small town of Grover’s Corners in three acts: “Daily Life,” “Love and
Marriage” and “Death and Eternity.” Narrated by a stage manager and performed with minimal
props and sets, the play depicts the simple daily lives of the Webb and Gibbs families as their
children fall in love, marry, and eventually – in one of the most famous scenes in American
theatre – die. Before this theatrical evening we will have dinner at the crowd favorite Golden Apple Buffet

10/20- PATHS
A meaningful intergenerational connection where we enjoy a restaurant-style lunch served by the students at PATHS, providing them with a valuable hands-on learning experience.

10/21- Yack & Snack
Join us for great conversation, delicious snacks, and good company! We will also be joined by a representative from the Orlando Insurance Agency to chat and answer any questions you might have about Medicare.

10/22- Reid State Park
Join Naturalist Angela at Reid State Park in Georgetown, Maine. We will walk Half Mile Beach and enjoy a Fall beach day and possibly watch some surfers! Make sure to bring plenty of layers and dress accordingly for the weather. Lunch will be a beach picnic! BYOS (Bring Your Own Sandwich). Chips, snacks, dessert, and drinks will be provided!
Rating is Easy to Moderate. There is a chance for some slippery pathways depending on recent weather, but the beach should be easily accessible for most.

Join us for one of our most popular trips! A mystery lunch, where are we going? Only the driver knows.

10/27- Coffee Shop Passport
We’re hunting down the best warm brews, cocoa and tea around! Come with us to earn your stamps for your passport! 5 stamps will earn you a one of a kind prize.

Gathering together for a day of connection, smart learning, about all the local resources that are available for you!

10/29- Public Theater "Steel Magnolias"
Bring the tissues and your best laugh! A timeless story packed with Southern charm, big humor, and incredible heart. Before the Show we will have lunch at the Governor's

Eyes on the prize! We’re crossing our fingers for lucky cards, spooky prizes, and a whole lot of winning shouts. Come dressed in a costume if you dare.
