Course participants hired as a Lifeguard by the City of Portland are eligible for full reimbursement of the course fee upon completion of 200 hours of work as a Lifeguard within the first year of employment. Sign up for a range of American Red Cross lifeguarding and water safety courses which can help you gain the skills and confidence necessary for providing care and instruction when it's needed most. Courses available include lifeguarding and Water Safety Instructor™ training.
All courses offered combined online self-led work and in-person sessions.

- Water Safety Instructor: $400
Participants must complete all self-led online work prior to first class, attend all classes and pass all final tests in order to receive their certification. No exceptions.
