Peaks Island Summer Rec Camp
We are excited to provide a fun, nurturing environment for Peaks Island kids this August! Whether your family lives on the island year-round or is visiting for a week, your child is welcome to join the fun.
For each week of camp, there is an option to register for all 5 days of camp (full days or half days) or select 2 days of camp (full days only); please choose the appropriate camp schedule for your child from the registration options below.

Hours & Tuition
Full days: 8:00am - 5:00pm
Half days: 8:00am-12:30pm
$275 per child for 5 full days of camp
$150 per child for 5 half days of camp
$110 per child for 2 full days of camp
***Please note that non-resident tuition differs from the above and is outlined by registration option below
What to Expect Each Day
- Nature-based adventures at different locations around the island, including the school playground, the ball field, the woods, and beaches
- Reading and games at the library
- Themed craft activities
- Dedicated time for snacks and lunch
- Choice time + free play time
What to bring each day:
- Labeled backpack/tote with your child’s first and last name
- Labeled and filled water bottle
- A sun hat/cap and sunglasses
- A change of clothing
- Sunscreen (SPF 30 or above; please put sunscreen on your child before coming to camp)
- Sneakers/socks with closed-toed shoes PLUS an alternative pair of sandals/flip-flops/crocs for beach excursions
- Bathing suit (children will not be allowed in the water past waist-level; please send your child with a life jacket if desired)
- A full lunch PLUS a few snacks (e.g. fruit, granola bars, veggies, trail mix, pretzels).
Readiness Skills:
To ensure the safety and enjoyment of all our participants, everyone attending the program must be able to perform the following readiness skills:
- Participate independently or with reasonable accommodations/modifications.
- Take and follow directions and instructions from a staff member and be open to changing what they are doing to keep the group safe and welcoming to all people.
- Interact and participate in a manner that is physically and emotionally safe for themselves and others.
- Maintain personal care without the support of recreation staff.
Stay with their assigned group throughout the program's duration or safely request a break from the group where staff can see/hear them and the rest of the group.
- Follow the department's behavior expectations, which include being safe, respectful and responsible.
Important Notes
Registration
Please register your child below according to your preferred schedule (5 full days, 5 half days, or 2 full days).
We need 8 children to register for each day by Friday, August 7, in order for this program to run.
Outstanding Balances
Participants with unpaid balances for past programs (including Before & After the Bell, field trips, vacation weeks, or summer camps) are not eligible to register. Any registrations made with an unpaid balance will be automatically canceled.
Withdrawals
If you withdraw before the first day, a $25 withdrawal fee per child per day will be deducted from your refund. There will be no refunds once the program has started
