*Due to instructor schedule challenges we, unfortunately, have canceled the Winter Saturday lessons.
In general, each lesson consists of 25 minutes of instruction and 25 minutes of practice. Skills are presented in a positive and easy-to-understand manner. Participants are rewarded with a certificate upon completion of the session. For safety purposes, skate aides are NOT allowed on the ice. Complimentary rental skates are included with group lessons.
Class Prerequisites: Students are between the ages of 6 -16 years old on or before the first day of class and have little to no skating experience. Students should dress warmly and bring mittens or gloves and a thick winter hat. While NOT mandatory, we do strongly urge that beginner-level students wear a protective helmet (bike helmets are acceptable.)
Class Curriculum: In this class, skaters are introduced to simple and attainable skills. Along with learning the proper way to fall and to recover from the fall (get back up!) and basic forward & backward movement, students will also learn how to march in a standing position and how to march while moving.
