Junior Lifeguarding (Fall Session 2025) - Junior Lifeguarding Get ready to dive into the world of lifeguarding with the American Red Cross Junior Lifeguarding Program—created just for ages 11–14! Over the length of the course, you’ll build the skills, confidence, and know-how to prepare for the full American Red Cross Lifeguarding course when you turn 15.Each class mixes dry-land lessons with exciting in-water activities. Along the way, you’ll learn essential communication, teamwork, and decision-making skills, while practicing the techniques every future lifeguard needs to know. All students must pass a prerequisite swim test in order to participate, swim tests will be scheduled before the first day.COURSE PREREQUISITES Before entering Junior Lifeguarding, participants must demonstrate the following skills, students will be asked to complete a swim evaluation before the first day of classes:
Swim the front crawl for 25 yards continuously while breathing to the front or side.
Swim the breaststroke for 25 yards using a pull, breathe, kick and glide sequence.
Complete the water competency sequence without stopping:
Step into water from the side and totally submerge.
Maintain position for one minute by treading water or floating (or a combination of the two).
Rotate one full turn and orient to the exit.
Level off and swim on the front or back 25 yards.
Exit without using a ladder or steps.

Junior Lifeguarding (Fall Session 2025) - Junior Lifeguarding Get ready to dive into the world of lifeguarding with the American Red Cross Junior Lifeguarding Program—created just for ages 11–14! Over the length of the course, you’ll build the skills, confidence, and know-how to prepare for the full American Red Cross Lifeguarding course when you turn 15.Each class mixes dry-land lessons with exciting in-water activities. Along the way, you’ll learn essential communication, teamwork, and decision-making skills, while practicing the techniques every future lifeguard needs to know. All students must pass a prerequisite swim test in order to participate, swim tests will be scheduled before the first day.COURSE PREREQUISITES Before entering Junior Lifeguarding, participants must demonstrate the following skills, students will be asked to complete a swim evaluation before the first day of classes:
Swim the front crawl for 25 yards continuously while breathing to the front or side.
Swim the breaststroke for 25 yards using a pull, breathe, kick and glide sequence.
Complete the water competency sequence without stopping:
Step into water from the side and totally submerge.
Maintain position for one minute by treading water or floating (or a combination of the two).
Rotate one full turn and orient to the exit.
Level off and swim on the front or back 25 yards.
Exit without using a ladder or steps.

Junior Lifeguarding (Fall Session 2025) - Junior Lifeguarding Get ready to dive into the world of lifeguarding with the American Red Cross Junior Lifeguarding Program—created just for ages 11–14! Over the length of the course, you’ll build the skills, confidence, and know-how to prepare for the full American Red Cross Lifeguarding course when you turn 15.Each class mixes dry-land lessons with exciting in-water activities. Along the way, you’ll learn essential communication, teamwork, and decision-making skills, while practicing the techniques every future lifeguard needs to know. All students must pass a prerequisite swim test in order to participate, swim tests will be scheduled before the first day.COURSE PREREQUISITES Before entering Junior Lifeguarding, participants must demonstrate the following skills, students will be asked to complete a swim evaluation before the first day of classes:
Swim the front crawl for 25 yards continuously while breathing to the front or side.
Swim the breaststroke for 25 yards using a pull, breathe, kick and glide sequence.
Complete the water competency sequence without stopping:
Step into water from the side and totally submerge.
Maintain position for one minute by treading water or floating (or a combination of the two).
Rotate one full turn and orient to the exit.
Level off and swim on the front or back 25 yards.
Exit without using a ladder or steps.

Youth Swim Lessons (Fall Session Two 2025) - Intermediate Preschool - Wednesdays Red Cross Learn to Swim:Designed to provide school-age children and young teens with a positive, developmentally appropriate aquatic learning experience. Learn-to-Swim courses consist of a logical, six-level progression. Red Cross Preschool Aquatics:Preschool Aquatics aims to promote the developmentally appropriate learning of fundamental water safety and skills by young children.
