The goal of this program introduce young people to the sport of ultimate frisbee and to foster a good “spirit of the game”. Who is this program for: Anyone in grades 5-8 who wants to learn and play UltimateWhat to Expect:Practices include the basics of catching and throwing a disc, games focused on specific skills , and lots of time spent scrimmaging as a way of learning the game.Since the sport is self-officiated, practices will also include a rule-of-the-day.   At the middle school level, all genders play together.  Some weeks, Portland Ultimate will play other middle school teams from Greater Portland towns but we will also do “in-house” games.  Games will be played within age groups.
