Join us for a new Family Adapted “Gym-n-Swim”, that starts in the Gym and ends in the Pool at Reiche Community Center. A fun, active Saturday afternoon for everyone as individuals with a disability and their family member(s) and/or support person/caregiver(s) come together in a safe, welcoming environment.
Starting in the gym at Reiche Community Center, staff will be helping to facilitate a variety of activities using sensory-friendly gym equipment along with fine-motor play stations. Participants will then transition to the Reiche Pool for an Adapted Open Swim. It will be a good time for all, both in and out of the water! We look forward to you and your family's participation!
Open Swim Policies and expectations that participants should be aware of:
- Each Adapted Aquatics participant must be accompanied in the pool by at least one adult family member or a support person/caregiver.
- Additional parents, guardians and caregivers can choose to not swim but will be asked to observe from a seated spot on the pool deck.
Family Members who participate:
- Must be 7 years old and 4 feet in height to swim without an adult.
- If under the age of 18, they will be required to take a skills assessment to confirm being able to swim in the 6 feet section of the pool, given at the time of the event.

Outside flotation devices
“Over-the-nose” swim goggles. Pool policy allows only swim goggles that cover the eyes.
Resident:
$25.00 (includes Resident + (1) Adult Family/Support Person)
+ 5.00 for each additional family member
Non-Resident:
$30.00 (includes Non-Resident + (1) Adult Family/Support Person)
+ 5.00 for each additional family member
When you register, please know that the price includes the participant and one guest. The guest is the adult household/family member or support person with the participant.
- Anyone beyond the participant and the adult household/family member or support person must register and will be charged $5.00.
- Please include all additional household/family members at the time of registration.
- You will be charged the full price of $25.00/$30.00 if you choose to add an extra household/family member after the time of your original registration.
- Any additional Support Person/Caregiver who does not live in the household of the family will be charged the full price as they are not considered household members.
