Important information to review before registering:
  • If your household has a fee waiver, CCAP, or other subsidy you wish to use for camp, please CLICK HERE to register.
  • Households not receiving fee waivers or subsidies may register online starting on Tuesday, March 4 at 8:30am. You can register in person at 212 Canco Road. However, no spots will be reserved for in-person registration (online registrants can get a spot while you are waiting in line to register in-person).
  • A $25 deposit per week, per camper is required at registration. This is a non-refundable deposit which applies toward the weekly registration fee.
  • When registering your children, please register them using their current grade (grade they are in for the school year 2024/25). This means children currently in Pre-K are not eligible for camp this summer. 
  • The Parents/Caregiver Handbook will be posted on this page on May 2, 2025.
  • The Camp Calendar will be posted on this page on May 30, 2025.
  • To ensure the safety and enjoyment of all our participants, everyone attending the camp must be able to perform the following readiness skills:
    - Participate independently or with reasonable accommodations/modifications.
    - Take and follow directions and instructions from a staff member and be open to changing what they are doing to keep the group safe and welcoming to all people.
    - Interact and participate in a manner that is physically and emotionally safe for themselves and others.
    - Maintain personal care without the support of recreation staff.
    - Stay with their assigned group throughout the program's duration or safely request a break from the group where staff can see/hear them and the rest of the group.
    - Follow the department's behavior expectations, which include being safe, respectful and responsible.

  • If your child needs additional support to show the readiness skills or they need to take or have with them a medication (Medical Permission For Inhalers, Epi-Pens and Insulin/Glucagon or other), please complete the appropriate online form below.
Qualified individuals with a disability seeking an accommodation in order to participate in the Department’s programs are asked to complete the forms above. Once received, the Department will determine if it can support the requested accommodation(s). The Department can provide reasonable accommodations that do not cause an undue burden on the City or fundamentally alter the nature of the program.

What: A summer day camp experience for children currently in grades K-5 and who are residents of Portland.
Who: Portland residents currently in grades K-5 who have and can show the departments readiness skills. 
When: 
Regular camp - 8:30am-4:30pm, Monday-Friday
Before camp - 7:30am-8:30am, Monday-Friday
After camp - 4:30pm-5:30pm, Monday-Friday
Dates
Week 1 - June 23-27 
Week 2 - June 30-July 3 (no camp July 4) 
Week 3 - July 7-11 
Week 4 - July 14-18 
Week 5 - July 21- 25 
Week 6 - July 28-August 1
Week 7 - August 4-8 
Where: Riverton Community Center, 1600 Forest Ave
Cost: 
- Regular camp: $250 per camper, per week (includes supervision, field trips,  American Red Cross swim lesson for grades K-1 and  American Red Cross WHALE Tales water safety for grades 2-5)
- Before camp - $240 for 7 weeks (7 week registration only)
- After camp - $240 for 7 weeks (7 week registration only)

-Transportation to and from camp is the responsibility of the camper’s parents/caregiver. 
-Breakfast and lunch are provided free of charge through the Portland Public School's children’s food program.

What to bring each day:
If campers show up without the things they need for the day, they will not be able to check in for camp.

-Labeled backpack/tote with your child’s first and last name
-Labeled and filled water bottle
-A sun hat/cap and sunglasses
-A change of clothing
-Bathing suit and towel
-Hat and sunscreen (SPF 30 or above)
-Sneakers/ socks with closed-toed shoes. Sandals/flip flops/crocs are not appropriate unless on a beach trip
-Snacks (e.g. fruit, granola bars, veggie, trail mix, pretzels)
